Welcome to Annie's Animal Welfare and Rescue Enrichment Foundation!

We're a non-profit organization that serves as a catalyst for change in the area of animal welfare and rescue in South Africa, currently only operational in the Western Cape. Our mission is to provide support to animal welfare and rescue organizations by advocating for the necessary resources, education and awareness to care for animals in need, through our projects.

ANNIE, OUR INSPIRATION

Annie joined the De Beer family in 2015 as a playful rescue pup with a striking coat and the build of a Great Dane-Pointer cross. She quickly became the farm’s social butterfly, befriending people and animals alike, and forming an unbreakable bond with Dr Deon de Beer. Energetic and athletic, no fence was high enough to stop her from visiting her friends around the farm. Known for her gentle intuition, Annie often brought quiet comfort to animals in their final moments at Earthpet Vet. In 2022, she was diagnosed with spleen cancer but, thanks to swift care and a medical fund, underwent surgery that extended her life by nearly two years. Annie passed away in 2024, and her spirit now lives on through the AWARE Foundation, which carries her name and honours her legacy by giving other animals the same chance she was given.

Our core team is made up of individuals with veterinarian, marketing and IT backgrounds. We believe that by combining our expertise, we can create a strong foundation for animal welfare and rescue organizations to build upon. Our goal is to empower these organizations to provide the best possible care for animals in need.

At Annie's Animal Welfare and Rescue Enrichment Foundation, we're on a mission to make a real difference in the lives of unwanted and rescue pets. Our passion for animal welfare is what drives us to create a network of support for organizations that share our values. By providing funding, education, and resources, we're able to empower these organizations to provide the best possible care for animals in need. We believe that every animal deserves to be loved and cared for, and we're committed to making that a reality.

We're passionate about creating a future where no animal is left behind, and every animal welfare and rescue organization has the resources and support they need to thrive. We're driven by our love for animals, and we believe that together, we can make a difference. Our dream is to create a vibrant and compassionate community of animal lovers who are committed to creating a brighter future for all animals.
